Faith. Family. Future.

Faith. Family. Future.

What Matters.

Scioto County, Ohio

From Here.

For Here.

Southern Ohio families are strong, resourceful, and ready to build a better future—together.

I’m Susan Sammons, a mother, small business owner, and proud Conservative committed to growing opportunity, restoring faith and putting families first.

I believe public service means listening, showing up, and solving problems—by working together.

Pro-Family.

We must protect what matters most—our children, our homes, and our values. Families should feel safe, heard, and supported by leaders who live and serve among them.

Pro-Growth.

Real growth comes from investing in people, not politics. Let’s create jobs that stay here and prepare the next generation for success through education, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Pro-Integrity.

Families deserve leaders who listen, budgets that reflect real priorities, and decisions made in the open. That’s how we build lasting trust—and a stronger Scioto County.

Real Solutions.

Real Authority.

What can a County Commissioner actually do?

A lot more than people realize

Leadership is earned in moments that matter. I stood up for families, truth, and transparency—and I’ll do the same for all of Scioto County.

Hometown Values.

Common-Sense Results.

Service Minded.

Integrity & Accountability. Public office is a public trust. I’ll lead with integrity—insisting on clear documentation, open communication, and regular reporting. Taxpayers deserve to know where their money goes and how decisions are made.

Transparency Builds Trust. Commissioners control access to public records and can require that meeting agendas, spending decisions, and contracts are posted online. I’ll work to make government documents easy to find, easy to understand, and open to all.

Safe Scioto.

Safe Scioto: Real Accountability on Crime. Crime is rising across Scioto County, from theft to violent offenses. Families don’t feel safe—and they’re right to demand better. I’ll promote the creation of a county-wide Public Safety Committee so the public can track real solutions in real time. I’ll support law enforcement, expand crime prevention tools, and work to make sure every corner of Scioto is safe to live, work, and raise a family.

Zero Tolerance for Sex Crimes and Trafficking. In 2024, Scioto County placed over 160 children into foster care—one of the highest rates per capita in Ohio. We sit at the intersection of major trafficking routes, and sex crimes are rising fast. As commissioner, I’ll push for a Zero Tolerance approach: more prosecutions, real consequences, better victim services, and real prevention. I’ll fight to make Scioto the most dangerous place in Ohio for predators—and the safest for kids.

Workforce Planning.

Recruit Manufacturing. Nearly $500 million in state funding is on the table to prepare land for major employers—and Scioto County can’t afford to miss the moment. Site-ready land is the key to attracting the kind of manufacturing and tech jobs that can transform our economy. This land belongs to the people, and I’ll fight to put it to work for jobs, for families, and for our future. We need leadership that will compete for every opportunity, partner with the right players, and make Scioto a serious contender again.

Broadband to Support Economic Growth. Broadband isn’t a luxury—it’s essential for work, school, healthcare, and modern business. Yet much of Scioto County still lacks access to the critical 100/10 Mbps speeds that drive economic opportunity. I’ll make closing that gap a top priority—pursuing grants, partnering with internet providers, and making broadband expansion a core part of our infrastructure planning. Every family, every student, and every small business in Scioto County deserves a reliable connection to the future.

Our Youth.

Protect the Next Generation. Children thrive when families—not bureaucrats—set the standard. I’ll fight to ensure our youth grow up with discipline, work ethic, and moral grounding by empowering mentors, strengthening family bonds, and putting values back at the center of local youth.

Empower Parents and Churches in Youth Policy. Children thrive when families—not bureaucrats—set the standard. I’ll fight to ensure our youth grow up with discipline, work ethic, and moral grounding by empowering mentors, strengthening family bonds, and putting values back at the center of local youth. That means supporting faith-based and community-led programs, backing parents over state systems, and making sure every child in Scioto County grows up with clear boundaries, strong guidance, and the dignity of purpose.

Scioto Recovery Efforts.

Prioritize Local People & Medical Leadership. As a nurse practitioner, I know what works. Commissioners can direct grants to NP- and physician-led programs, fund clinics, and use OneOhio and public health dollars to expand MAT, Telehealth, and long-term care—so outcomes, not politics, drive treatment.

Secure OneOhio Funds for Real Recovery. Scioto County hasn’t received a single grant from Region 9’s $2.75M in opioid settlement funds. I’ll change that—by fighting for our fair share and ensuring funds serve real recovery, not red tape.

Together…

Scioto County

will rise up again.

Our Family.

For Yours.

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

Joshua 29: 11

Ryan and I chose to live in Scioto County because we believed God had a plan for us and for this community. We felt called to raise our family here, invest our time and talents here, and stand for what’s right—right here.

We believed this was where we were meant to raise our children, serve others, and take a stand for truth. We’ve seen the challenges our county faces, but we’ve also seen its strength—its grit, its faith, and its people who never give up. That’s why we’ve stayed. Because when God places you somewhere, it’s not just to live—it’s to lead, to listen, and to love your neighbor well.

I’d love to hear from you.

Whether you have a question, a concern, or just want to share what’s on your heart—I’m here. Public service should be personal, and I believe good leaders listen first.

Call, write, or stop by. This campaign was never meant to be distant or polished—it’s meant to be real. Because that’s what Scioto County is: neighbors who care, people who show up, and voices that matter.

Let’s talk. Let’s work together. Let’s move Scioto County forward.
